Walking Street is Pattaya's loudest export, but it is only one option. Many travelers prefer the beach clubs on Jomtien, live-music bars around Soi Buakhao, the craft-beer taprooms in Naklua, or a rooftop on Pratumnak with a view over the bay.

Around town: blue songthaew baht buses loop Beach Road southbound and Second Road northbound for a flat fare — press the buzzer to stop and pay at the window. Grab and Bolt cover the whole city, including Jomtien and Naklua. Scooter rental is cheap but requires a valid international licence, a helmet, and confidence in heavy traffic.

Pattaya rewards travelers who use it as a base: buy in the city, eat by the water, ferry out to the islands, and keep consumption private and respectful.

It is cheaper than Bangkok, easier to reach than Phuket, and dense enough that you can compare a dozen dispensaries in an afternoon — which is exactly why it belongs on a Thailand cannabis itinerary.
